County Workers Could Strike

The union that represents roughly 1700 San Luis Obispo County Employees says they are ready to go on strike if their demands aren’t met. According to the Tribune, The San Luis Obispo County Employees’ Association wants a 2.5-percent raise retroactive to Last July, increased health benefits and a return of the full two-hour minimum benefit to employees working on-call. County officials say they have to provide services in a fiscally sustainable way or face the possibility of layoffs down the road. adding that if the employees do strike, essential public safety and health services would continue.
