The Diablo Canyon Decommissioning Engagement Panel has released it’s Strategic Vision report. Its part of the ongoing public process of mapping out the future of the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant facilities and lands after its planned shutdown by 2025. The report recommends the decommissioning process begin immediately upon the nuclear power plant’s announced and planned shutdown. The report also suggests the 12,000 acres and 14 miles of coastline be preserved. More public workshops and meetings are scheduled in the coming months. The report is now headed to PG&E and the Public Utilities Commission.
