Storm Pummeled Central Coast

The strong storm that swept over the Central Coast over the weekend flooded streets, closed a section of the 101 through Santa Barbara for several hours. Downed trees and power lines left thousands without power at times. Residents living below burn scarred areas of the Sherpa, Whittier and Thomas Fires were evacuated for a time as the storm passed. All evacuation orders were lifted by yesterday morning. Amtrak service through San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties was delayed due to debris on the tracks. Two boats in Port San Luis were also blown ashore by the storm.
