Lompoc Police say a social media report of a child being abducted from an elementary school yesterday afternoon was not accurate. According to KSBY, the report claimed a child had been abducted from La Cañada Elementary School. But police say the 5-year-old boy had somehow ended up walking off school grounds with another parent, who walked the boy across the street. He then wandered off, going up to a car he thought he knew, but when he realized the woman in the car wasn’t his mother, he kept walking. Police caught up with the boy and an unidentified man on H Street. Police say no crime was committed and no charges will be filed.
