Some parents of students in the Lucia Mar School District are raising concerns over the use of pesticides on school grounds. A sign on the door of one school warned parents that Monsanto’s RangerPro pesticide is being used on school grounds. The herbicide has the same ingredients that have been ruled in three cases to have caused cancer. Lucia Mar School District officials say They have used Roundup in the past, but have stopped. The RangerPro they use now is a much lower concentration, adding that the district is looking for an environmentally friendly option.
