Prices Jump At The Pump

You may notice a little more pain at the pump this morning. Today’s the day gas prices are set to climb by another 5.6 cents a gallon. According to the state Board of Equalization, the price of gas will continue to increase indefinitely starting next year to keep up with the California Consumer Price Index. In April, Governor Gavin Newsom blamed “inappropriate industry practices” rather than higher taxes and stricter environmental rules for the highest average price in the nation for a gallon of gas. According to Triple-A, California motorists were paying an average of $3.75 of a gallon last week, far above the national average of $2.71.
