First Responders Rescue Kayaker And Horse

A couple of tense moments at Montana de Oro State Park this weekend. Cal Fire and Morro Bay rescue crews were called out to a report of a kayaker who was into some trouble. According to Cal Fire, the kayaker was knocked over by a wave at Spooners Cover Saturday afternoon. When he couldn’t make it back to shore, he began yelling for help. Crews were able to get him back to shore. He was treated, then transported to an area hospital for evaluation. Earlier in the day, Cal Fire crews were called out to Montana de Oro to rescue a horse that had fallen into a ravine.
