D.A. Files 10 Felonies Against Man Who Threatened To Shoot Minorities

The San Luis Obispo Man Accused of sending threatening letters is now facing 10 felony charges. The San Luis Obispo County D.A.’s Office has charged 62-year-old Richard Orcutt with 7 counts of making criminal threats, two counts of possessing an assault rifle, and a single charge of attempting to make a criminal threat. Four of the charges carry sentencing enhancements alleging the offenses are hate crimes. Last month, Orcutt was arrested after allegedly sending threats to shoot minorities if they moved into his neighborhood. A search warrant turned up numerous firearms and ammunition. He’s due back in court on July 29th.
