The Lompoc woman accused of beating her 74-year-old neighbor to death was in court yesterday. Investigators believe 36-year-old Melissa Leigh Martin used a baseball in the death of Eldri Jauch. Jauch was found in Martin’s apartment in June after Jauch’s sister reported her missing. Martin was arrested outside a home in Santa Ynez. She has been in Santa Barbara County Jail since being arrested. Bail was set at 2 million dollars. Martin has yet to enter a plea. The judge ruled to continue yesterday’s hearing to September 17th
