Templeton’s Fire Department is facing the same financial woes found at Fire and Emergency Services Departments across the unincorporated areas of San Luis Obispo County. They’re running out of money. Templeton Fire is currently facing a 490,000 dollar budget gap. The county Clerk-Recorder’s Office recently sent out a vote-by-mail special election ballot for Measure A. It asks residents if they’re willing to pay $180 annually per property parcel, or $15 per month for Fire Department coverage 24-7. Ballots are due on August 27th.
