Morro Bay’s Sewer Project Moves Forward

Morro Bay’s sewer and water reclamation project is moving forward. Back in July the California Coastal Commission unanimously approved the 124 million dollar project. But, at this week’s City Council meeting, members voted unanimously against a union-related labor agreement. Most members said the vote was due to cost. According to the Tribune, Morro Bay’s staff report estimated requiring union labor would cost an additional 45,000 to 90,000 dollars. Construction is set to begin in September or October, and a job fair for local workers will be held in the near future.
