Firefighters were called out to a couple of a small vegetation fires yesterday. According to the C.H.P., a car fire spread to nearby at around 11:30 a.m. on Highway 46 near Dover Canyon Road. The flames were quickly contained. Firefighters also made fairly quick work of a small vegetation fire yesterday afternoon near the eastbound Highway 46 in front of Jack Ranch Cafe in Shandon. The flames scorched about two acres before crews had the forward progress halted. An investigation into the cause is underway.
