A year-long identity theft investigation has ended with a man facing two felony charges of identity theft and a misdemeanor charge of electronic impersonation. According to the D.A.’s Office, 36-year-old David Platek created a fake Facebook account that appeared identical to local political activist Kevin P. Rice. Prosecutors believe Platek used the account to make false statements to damage Rice’s reputation. Platek is due in court tomorrow.
