An Atascadero man who was arrested last month following a house fire, high-speed pursuit, and an hours-long standoff with police was in court yesterday. 40-year-old Charles Scovell is facing charges of arson, evading an officer and resisting arrest. He pleaded not guilty to all the charges against him. Earlier in the week, a judge ordered him not to have contact with his mother. He’s scheduled to be back in court next week.
