Gas Prices Down For Holiday Travel

Gas prices down a bit on average for holiday travel. In many areas of the country gas prices are actually up in the past week – but the Energy Department says the average nationwide is down a penny to 2.58 a gallon… That’s because the drop in California has offset the other gains. California prices shot up to above 4 dollars a gallon for regular unleaded and are now beginning to come down, down 9 cents in the past week. Still, Californians are paying over a dollar more than the rest of the country for regular unleaded. San Luis Obispo County’s current average price for a gallon of regular is 4.08. In Santa Barbara County, it’s 3.97.
