Safe To Eat Lettuce Again

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention made an announcement about the recent lettuce outbreak. Experts say the health scare appears to be over. The outbreak was caused by the same strain of E. coli linked to leafy greens in 2017 and to romaine lettuce in 2018. The recall involving romaine lettuce grown in Salinas Valley, has been lifted. The CDC made the announcement following an investigation into and e. Coli outbreak traced back to the leafy greens. The strain was reported across 27 states, with a total of 167 people infected. No deaths were reported. The FDA says it continues to look for the source of contamination at farms where the lettuce was grown.
