It was the end of an era yesterday in Santa Maria. The Sears store at the Santa Maria Town Center Mall closed its doors for the last time. Some shoppers say their families had shopped at Sears for almost everything in the homes and were sad to see the store close. Meanwhile the Kmart in Atascadero also shut its doors for the last time yesterday. According to KSBY, The closures are part of nearly 100 store closures nationwide announced in November by Transformco which owns Sears and Kmart.
