Thank you signs have been popping in neighborhoods affected by last week’s Avila Fire. The wind-whipped flames scorched 445 acres and threatened 100 homes. Only one structure was reported damaged by the burn. No buildings were destroyed. And neighbors say that’s Thanks to the quick and aggressive work by firefighters from around the county. The flames were fully contained by Friday. Crews were still looking for hot spots over the weekend.
