SLO County Increases Number Of Contact Tracers

As the number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise throughout the state and the nation, San Luis Obispo County is tripling its contact tracing efforts to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Contact tracers work to identify people who may have come in contact with people who have tested positive for the coronavirus. Officials say they have been able to trace 100 percent of the confirmed cases since the pandemic began. County Public Health Officer Dr. Penny Borenstein said contact tracing has been used in the past for other diseases and food-borne outbreaks.
