A 112-year-old bridge in Arroyo Grande is getting an upgrade. Caltrans had determined that the Bridge Street Bridge in the Village of Arroyo Grande was functionally obsolete. After years of discussion and debate, work on the bridge began over the weekend. The cost of the upgrades is expected to reach 9 million dollars. That will be covered by the Federal Highway Bridge Program.
