The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office arrested a third person in connection with the 2018 murder of a Santa Maria man whose body was found in a Nipomo golf course lake. Authorities say 33-year-old Benjamin Mersai was taken into custody yesterday at Blacklake Golf Resort. The same golf course where the remains of murder victim Joseph Govey were recovered last week. Mersai was booked on suspicion of murder, conspiracy and accessory to murder. Two other suspects are facing similar charges.
