A man briefly held San Luis Obispo County Deputies at bay yesterday. The deputies were responding to a report of shots fired on Carpenter Canyon Road south of San Luis Obispo. He had fired several shots at the tires of an unattended vehicle before barricading himself inside the home with two family members. After roughly 90 minutes of negotiations, he surrendered and was placed on a mental health hold. No one was injured during the incident.
