A high-speed pursuit that started in Santa Maria lands a suspect in jail. Authorities say it started yesterday afternoon when a Santa Maria CHP officer witnessed a Kia traveling northbound on the 101 at a high rate of speed. The officer tried to pull the suspect over, but the driver continued into San Luis Obispo. He eventually abandoned the stolen Kia at the Chumash Village mobile home park on South Higuera. following a short foot pursuit, 28-year-old Armando Sandoval was taken into custody.
