Oceano, CA -- San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's detectives continue the investigation into the drive by shooting that occurred in the 1700 block of 21st Street in Oceano Thursday evening. Multiple shots were fired from a vehicle at two kids standing on the street.

17-year-old Gabriel Salgado of Oceano was shot in the head and died at Marian Medical Center in Santa Maria Friday morning. A 14-year-old boy was also struck in the leg and was treated at Arroyo Grande Community Hospital.

Over 30 personnel from the Sheriff's Office took part in the initial response, while specialized units have been working since the incident. No suspects or motives have been identified.
