It's a “sock drive” to support local shelters, warming centers, and the agencies that support the homeless population.
KVEC will seek donations of new, unused socks for children and adults that will be given to 3 local groups from 6a to 7p on December 14th.
Agencies include: The 5 Cities Homeless Coalition, in SLO; the Prado Day Center and Maxine Lewis Memorial Shelter, and Transitional Food and Shelter or (TFS). TFS provides emergency 24-hour-a-day shelter and food for medically fragile homeless clients.
Why socks? Often it's the most requested item needed
at shelters. Socks are critical to prevent injury, infection, and
provide comfort in winter months. Shelters prefer “dry wick
