Arrest After Attempted Murder At Motel 6

Pismo Beach, CA -- A man wanted for attempted murder last year has finally been nabbed by local police. Back in December, officers from the Pismo Beach Police Department responded to Motel 6 regarding a report of a disturbance with possible shots fired.  Upon arrival officers were unable to locate any victims or witnesses to a possible altercation or shooting.  The next day, investigators uncovered information that led to potential evidence of a drug deal gone bad. The victim’s vehicle was eventually located in Los Angeles and found to have a bullet hole in the front windshield.

During the course of the investigation an arrest warrant and 2 search warrants were obtained and served resulting in the recovery of a firearm that is believed to have been used in the shooting.

Last Saturday, 29-year-old James Heinrichs of Grover Beach was arrested for attempted murder and is currently being held on $500,000 bail at the San Luis Obispo County Jail.
