Plan To Fund Affordable Housing
December 5th, 2018
The San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors has given the green light to a three-year plan that would funnel millions of dollars into affordable, workforce housing throughout the county. The Plan presented to the Board of Supervisors yesterday by The Coalition of Housing Partners, calls for increased building fees on new homes over 2200 square feet to help fund low-income housing. The Plan also calls for the streamlining of environmental permitting to get more affordable housing to market. Officials say some funding will come from increased taxes and fees from vacation rental and hotel rooms.
