Few SLO County Residents Can Afford To Buy A Home

Buying a home on the Central Coast is a long shot for most in California, let alone San Luis Obispo county. According to a new report from the Los Angeles-based California Association of Realtors, only 25-percent of San Luis Obispo County Resident s can afford a median priced home in the county. The report points out that a median priced home in SLO County is 550,000 dollars. Prospective home buyers in San Luis Obispo County need to make at least 113,000 dollars a year, in order to make the 2,800 dollar a month mortgage payments. The least affordable county in California is San Francisco.
