Prosecutors In Manslaughter Trial Could Rest Today
December 3rd, 2018
Prosecutors in The manslaughter trial against the owner of The Manse on Marsh say they may be ready to rest as soon as this afternoon. Christopher Skiff has pleaded not guilty to the charges of involuntary manslaughter and elder abuse in the death of a resident in 2014. 65-year-old Mauricio Cardenas, who suffered from dementia, left the facility without telling staff and was struck and killed by a car as he crossed Los Osos Valley Road. Prosecutors say the Skiff and his executive director, Gary Potts knew their facility was not licensed to care for Cardenas's level of cognitive impairment.
