Skiff Takes Stand In Own Defense
December 5th, 2018
The prosecution in the manslaughter case against the owner of The Manse on Marsh rested on Monday, now the defense has a chance to have their side heard. Christopher Skiff has pleaded not guilty to the charges filed against him. He took the stand in his own defense and told the court that he was not consulted before the facility admitted a resident suffering from dementia. Mauricio Cardenas left the facility and was struck and killed by a car two-years ago. The state claims Skiff and former executive director, Gary Potts, conspired to admit residents with dementia and related symptoms, even though the facility was not licensed for their care.
