Fire Breaks Out In River Bed

Roughly a week after the Paso Robles City Council declared a local emergency and voted to spend more than 300,000 dollars to clean up the Salinas riverbed, firefighters were called out to a report of a brush fire just off the Highway 46 and 101 interchange. The blaze broke out at around 6 p.m… The Paso Robles City Fire Department got an assist from Cal Fire crews. The flames scorched between 1 and 2 acres before firefighters got the upper hand. At last weeks City Council meeting the riverbed was declared a serious fire hazard to Paso Robles.
