Northern California Counties

Big chunks of California are under threat today of having their electricity turned off this week to prevent wildfires. It’s annoying for many Californians who now live with the threat of having their power turned off every time it gets windy but Deanna Contreras at Pacific Gas and Electric says, they understand the impacts that this has on cities and counties and critical customers but this is a severe wind event with critical risk. But many officials argue it’s dangerous to have cities go dark, cell phone towers could go out, stop lights turn off, and medical equipment can’t run. San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties are not in the proposed power outage area at this time.
