A United Launch Alliance Delta IV Heavy rocket is scheduled for launch this afternoon from Vandenberg Air Force Base. When it rumbles into space from Space Launch Complex-6 at around 1:46, the massive rocket will be carrying a payload for the National Reconnaissance Office. The launch will take place weather permitting, and so far there’s a 40 percent chance of acceptable conditions this afternoon. Wind is the primary concern.
