A former Cal Fire Captain, who has been charged with a misdemeanor count of sexual battery is also the focus of a 1.75 million dollar negligence suit. An employee, working at the South Bay’s Station 15 at the time of the incident, notified her supervisors that, then captain, James Thomas groped her at her desk. An investigation led to Thomas’s arrest in December of last year. According to the Tribune, San Luis Obispo County and the Los Osos CSD plan to deny the claim.
