Cal Fire Firefighters Mopping Up After 48-Acre Fire

Cal Fire firefighters mopping up this morning after a wildfire broke out yesterday afternoon. The fire was first reported just before 3 o’clock northeast of Santa Maria, near Bull Creek Road. The flames were attacked from the air and by ground crews. Air tankers had the fire 90 percent surrounded by retardant by 4 o’clock. The flames were 100 percent contained by 6 p.m… roughly 48 acres of grassland were scorched. It’s the second vegetation fire in the area in the past few days.
