Atascadero Police are investigating the discovery of a body found in a car over the weekend. Detectives say an officer uncovered a deceased occupant in a car in the Atascadero Police Department parking lot Sunday evening at around 5:20. According to a press release, the person had died from a gunshot wound. Detectives do not suspect foul play. The incident remains under investigation.
