Nonprofit Could Lose State Funding

Restorative Partners, a Central Coast program that helps parolees reenter society, is in jeopardy after losing 50 percent of its state funding. Officials with the nonprofit believe everyone needs to be afforded a second or third chance. The funding that is being cut comes from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. San Luis Obispo County D.A. Dan Dow feels that the loss in funding could jeopardize public safety because parolees could end up going back into crime as opposed to being supported while reentering society.
