While the Country continues to mourn the loss of lives in this weekends mass shootings, California lawmakers are calling for stricter nationwide gun laws, including background checks for ammunition. in February, U.S. Senator Salud Carbajal introduced a bill called the Extreme Risk Protection Order Act. It would allow family or law enforcement to petition a judge to remove firearms from a person in crisis. Carbajal says the bill is intended to make sure that people who shouldn’t have guns don’t get them.
