Cave Fire Evacuees Face New Worries

More than 6300 people were forced to leave their homes when the Cave Fire broke out on Monday. Now, with winter storms rolling through the Central Coast there are new concerns. With heavy rain and snow moving in there are concerns about debris flow in the burn areas. Whenever it rains – areas that burned recently can slide. The ground is fragile, there’s no vegetation to absorb water. There could be mudslide problems. Plus highways could be shut down because of flooding and even snow.
