Some kids in Santa Maria got a chance to practice reading out loud yesterday with the help of some four-legged friends. According to KSBY, kids 6 to 12 took part in the”Paw To Reads” event yesterday at the Santa Maria Public Library. The children got a chance to read to one of six therapy dogs brought to the event by “Love on a Leash”. Organizers say the kids can gain confidence in reading out loud when they read to dogs. All of the dogs that participated in the program are looking for a forever home.
