SLO County Health Officials Look At Hospital Alernatives
As the number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise throughout the state and the country, San Luis Obispo County officials say they are taking steps to create an alternative care site if local hospitals reach capacity with COVID-19 patients. The County of SLO Medical Reserve Corps, which is made up of trained volunteers who assist public health efforts during times of special need or disaster, would staff the Cal Poly Recreation Center should the need arise. There are now 33 positive cases of the virus in San Luis Obispo County.
