SLO County Facing Budget Deficit up To 56 Million Dollars

Officials say they are expecting a budget shortfall between 32 and 56 million dollars next fiscal year. The COVID-19 pandemic and a dramatic drop in consumer sending, as a result, are considered primary reasons for the shortfall. They believe the pandemic could impact the county’s budget for the next three years, maybe longer.
