With the memory of the Avila Fire still fresh on the minds of many Central Coast Residents. Firefighters were challenged again yesterday in Paso Robles. A wind-driven fire in the Salinas Riverbed jumped into nearby neighborhoods. At last report, the River Fire was 60 percent contained. Some residents consider themselves lucky to be able to return to their homes. Two homes were burned and four others were badly damaged. Crews are expected to remain in the area throughout the day today to mop up. The cause is under investigation.
