California Valey Brush Fire Forces Evacuations

A brush burning in California Valley has forced the evacuations of several residents. The Branch Fire broke out yesterday afternoon at around 2. By 4 o’clock, flames had scorched 350 acres, burning at least one structure, and forcing the evacuation of residents on Belmont Trail to Greybriar and Soda Lake Road to Branch Mountain Road. The fast-moving flames charred between 2,500 and 3,000 acres. At last report, firefighters had the blaze 30 percent contained.
