Hate crime and weapons charges have been dismissed against the former San Luis Obispo firefighter. Richard Orcutt was facing 15 years in state prison after allegedly sending bigoted and threatening letters to property managers in his neighborhood. But, according to the Tribune, an FBI handwriting expert said it was unlikely he sent the letters. Orcutt believes he was the victim of a false police report.
