The San Luis Obispo City council gave the green light to more affordable housing at a project that was already underway. More than 1,000 people applied for 46 new apartments. The new plan for the Broad Street Project is to make a commercial building smaller while adding a few studio and one-bedroom apartments. Construction is set to begin in about 90 days. Construction on another apartment complex is set to begin this week.
