The trial of a former Grover Beach police officer whose retired K-9 fatally mauled a Grover Beach man is winding down. Jurors heard closing arguments yesterday. Prosecutors claimed Alex Geiger was negligent and knew the risks and liability of having a retired K-9. His Defense attorney claimed testimonies from witnesses were biased. Both asked jury members to consider the facts. Jurors may have Geiger’s fate in their hands by this afternoon.
