UC and CS Schools Could Be Forced To Give Out Abortion Pill

A bill being considered by the California legislature would require schools in the University of California and California State University systems, including Cal Poly and UC Santa Barbara, to provide abortion pills through their health centers. The first edition of SB 24 was vetoed by then Gov. Jerry Brown. According to KSBY, Some opponents of the measure have argued that young college-age women may not be mature enough to make such an important decision as having an abortion and expanding access would lead to quick decisions. But supporters believe an abortion pill should be provided by the school.
