One Arrested During Santa Maria Checkpoint

Santa Maria Police say they have seen an uptick in the number of drivers caught driving under the influence since the legalization of recreational marijuana. In an effort to remind drivers of the dangers of driving under the influence of drugs an alcohol, Santa Maria Police set up a DUI checkpoint Friday night on South Broadway. Police officials were pleased to announce that no one was arrested for driving intoxicated. One person was arrested for driving without a license or with a suspended or revoked license.
