Lompoc City Fire investigators have been looking into what caused a deadly apartment fire since last June. Authorities say it happened in a downstairs unit of the Kimi East Apartments on East Cypress. Firefighters found the body of 76-year-old Rubye Fritz inside. An autopsy determined Fritz died of smoke inhalation. Investigators say the fire has been listed as accidental, but the cause is unknown.
